Hi, I was wondering if you have any tips on getting rid of BSOD with the "Video Memory Management Internal" issue when using After Effects. They usually happen randomly when I work on my heavy projects.
My pc specs are reasonably good, and this issue never happens in any other software like Blender3d or Maya
After Effects v 23.4
OS - Windows 10 64 bit
GPU - Nvidia RTX 4090
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5950x
Ram - GSkill 128 Gb
Motherboard - MSI Tomahawk b550 Gaming plus
The temperatures are always fine, they never reach critical numbers. But RAM and VRAM are typically at full capacity.
I also suppose that it can be an issue with virtual memory. I think it's because some part of the project can be allocated into it, and then it goes into BSOD because virtual memory is not as fast as RAM or VRAM.

Hey,
Welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Are you using any third-party plugins in your project? What effects have you added to your compositions, and how many compositions and layers do your projects usually have? Please also share your GPU driver version (Right-click on Desktop > Nvidia Control Panel). We're here to help, just need some more info.
Thanks,
Ishan

Hi,
Thank you for your response! Yes, I do use some third-party plugins. After Effects frequently crashes, and my pc goes into BSOD when I use them a lot. Some of the more hard-to-process ones are Depth Scanner by Blace Plugins, Deep Glow by Plugin Everything, Loop Flow by Irrealix, Mocha Pro, and Sapphire Effects by BorisFX. I also often use Displacement Map and Mesh Warp effects along with them.
Regarding my projects, I typically have a lot of compositions and layers. It's hard to count an average number of them, but I think there are usually dozens of compositions. I do complex VFX effects and animation projects.
My current GPU driver version is 531.61. I always use NVIDIA studio drivers, and I try my best to keep them up to date. But it also happened before when I had 3090ti.
I hope you'll be able to give me some tips!

Thanks for sharing the details. To isolate if a plugin causes the issue, go to Effect > Manage Effects, enable Only Show Third-Party Effects, and click the Disable All button. Check if you still see the blue screen error.

I see blue screens randomly 1 or 2 times a day or two. So I'd have to work for a while without plugins to understand whether it's an issue caused by them or not. Unfortunately, I can't do that, because I still need these plugins to work on my projects.

Do you have any tips on how to get rid of these BSOD errors? Or is it not enough data to think of any advice?
