Randomly filling shape with dots

Hey.

I am pretty new to AE.

I want to do an animation where I have a world map

that I slowly start covering it with bluedots (bopbopbopbopop).

it gets faster and at the end the whole map is coverd  in blue.

Does anyone have an idea how to approach it.

I dont want to animate those dots manually 🙂

Thanks in advance

The random distribution entirely can be controled by the map in a pre-composition like e.g. fading from a noise to a fully white contour for full visibility/ scale. Same for any other method, including particle-based methosds. You have to think your way through how to create the maps. Everything else is trivial after that.

Other than that any number of other techniques applies from creating layer maps for particle Playground to using Card dance or third-party particle plug-ins.

Interesting. Thanks.

Any idea how to distribute the dots randomly over time on the map ?

Thanks
