Ray Trace

My 3D raytrace used to work but now I can't make it work anymore. Whenever I change my text to 3d the text disappears. you can see the 3D container, go in and extrude it out etc but you can't see the text. There is probably a simple answer for this but it is beyond me. I should add that my 3D Text animations that I have created,  don't show the text anymore either.

And the version of AE you're both running?

And the operating system?

And why did you ask if there's "enough space on your GPU"?

That doesn't even make any sense.

The error seems to suggest you should check your paging file?

Is there enough room in your paging file?

Google it.

How much RAM do you have installed?

How much space is on your Primary hard drive?

What background processes are running and how much memory are they using?

FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?

you should get this message:

To restore the default preference settings, press and hold the following keys while the application is starting.

  • Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows)
  • Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS)

I have tried it many times with no luck. Like I said, I can see the container if I click on the text layer. If I play around with it, like change the z space etc, I am back to getting the ray-trace 3D initial shader compile fail error. Very frustrating. When I close that dialogue box I get the out of paged mapped memory for ray tracer error

I mean , double click on After effects, then press and hold ctrl + alt + shift  and keep them hold down until you get the message:

Delete After effects preferences ?  click yes

Reset After Effects Preferences settings:

if you are on windows, Run After effects while pressing on ctrl + alt + Shift

Not sure what you mean by “run after effects“ while pushing the buttons
