Roto brush's boundary not visible with hand tool

When I use the roto brush, if I switch a hand tool or move the view by middle mouse button, background disappears.

Here's the correct view, but if I switch to hand tool, or press and hold the middle mouse button and move the mouse,

suddenly brings this view. To back to correct view, I have to zoom in/out to refresh the view.

I think there is a bug in the code of refreshing the view.

Is there any solution? Or I have to wait for next update?

--- Some updates ---

There seems to have multiple ways to back to normal view, for example

- Press alt (switch to "minus" tool)

- Move mouse cursor to outside of the viewer screen

- Zoom in/out

Win 10 Pro 64bit

this is not supposed to happen. are you using 15.1.1 version? also, try to uncheck this in the preferences

Thank you, it worked for me!

Yes I'm using 15.11, first I turned off the checkbox but nothing changed.

Then I found the checkbox seems to take effect after the restart of Ae

Do you think turning off this checkbox can affect another processing performance?

If not I'll leave it unchecked, but if it does I'll switch off only when I use roto-brush.

don't worry about performance using this checkbox, I actually never checked it on because it caused many bugs and this might be just another one of them. I would report this bug in anycase using the adobe wishform page Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Thank you! Unchecking "Hardware Ecelerator etc" in Preferences worked for me using After Effects (Beta) 18.4.0 (Build 32) in June 2021.
