settings to make audio sync up better w clips in preview?

Hey so i make edits to songs that involve me cutting clips on beat and usually i dont use headphones while doing it and im able to cut clips right on sync with the beat. Recently i moved into a dorm so i have to use headphones while editing, but i realized the sound is a bit delayed and so I'm no longer to cut on the beat perfectly like i could before. I use airpods as my headphones which may be contributing to the problem, but I was also wondering if there was a setting I could change or something that would allow me to make the audio match up better with my clips when i preview. If not I would also love to know if there's any headphones that are good at preventing the delay. Idk if i explained this in a way that makes sense but I would appreciate any help!

Plug your headphones in; don't use wireless. The delay will go away.

 

After Effects is not a video editing app. If you are cutting to the beat, Use Premiere Pro. You'll save a ton of time.

 

You can also use Adobe Audition to generate beat markers on an audio file. There are a lot of ways to cut to music. Timing precisely to the beat is not always the best cutting option. It all depends on the composition, framing, and action between the shots. Sometimes, the most effective cut is several frames ahead or behind the beat so the eyes have a chance to move to the new center of attention. There is no way AI or cutting-to-beat markers can ever convey the emotion and intensity of a film as well as an experienced editor. When I do fully produced music videos or even music-accompanied graphics animations, I also edit stereo panning and EQ to help tell the most effective story.
