Shift key not working to constrain aspect ratios when resizing

Hello,

I'm new here, but from what I understand by holding shift, clicking and dragging, I should be able to resize images proportionally. This has not been the case for me, and it is obviously problematic. Does anyone know why this would be the case or what I can do about it? Thank you. -- BB

Correct answer Mike_Abbott

Start dragging the corner handle - then hold down shift. Release the mouse button - then release shift.
Does that not work for you?

Okay, I think I see the issue now. With other Adobe projects I've used, you click shift first, but when I did that, the corners became unclickable. Thanks for the simple tip!

Thank you so much! I'm learning After Effects now and this response truly helped me!
