Hi all,

After finishing the camera tracker in After Effects and exporting the tracking data and solid to Cinema 4D Lite the solid is not sticked to the grid.

What can this be, please help.

Best regards,

Hans, The Netherlands

If this is the first time you have tried this workflow you might only be missing the last step. Try using the Centered Comp Camera in C4D.

If that does not solve your problem, your work clothes is probably missing something.

    Here is the recommended workflow:

    1. Double click the source footage in the Project panel to open it in the Footage panel and set in and out points so you are not working frames that will never be in the final edit
    2. Select the footage again in the Project panel and create a new comp from the selected
    3. Switch to the Travk Motion workspace
    4. Track Camers - advanced analysis helps for most shots
    5. Set an Origin and Ground Plane using markers that make sense for the shot
    6. Add a camera and a solid using the same points you just used
    7. Verifr the Camera Track is accurate (adding the Grid effect to the Solid helps)
    8. After verifying the accuracy add as many other solids as you need to line things up in C4D
    9. Add as many lights as you need to light the scene
    10. Save the project then export the comp as a C4D file
    11. Import the C4D file and add it to the timeline
    12. Select Centered Comp Camera in Cineware and verify that all of the solids line up
    13. Open C4D Lite from Cineware and add your objects to the scene so they match the reference solids then save and return to AE
    14. Fine tune the composite in AE using lights and material options for all 3D layers in the comp
    15. Do the same in C4D

That is about it. Leaving out any of those steps will significantly reduce your chance of success.

    Thank you Rick.
Can you please let me know in what section I can find this particular camera?

    Kindest regards,

Look in the Cineware Effects Control Panel. It's just about ion the middle.

    Hi Rick,

I tried but I don't think it is the camera. The solid and the grid are not at the same "height".

Is there a kind of "shortcut" to solve that?

    Kindest regards,
    Hans
