Question

Timeline panel gone

Since Adobe still can't manage to properly sync user settings I had to redo my workspace again after the recent update. After a restart my timeline panel is now missing. I can open compositions in the monitor but no timeline. The menu 'window' doesn't even show an entry to activate. I can choose another workspace layout than it reappears. But I'm sick of recreating my workspace. Any suggestions?

Sometimes I want to quit this job just to never open a Adobe Product ever again...

So a complete pc restart fixed it. It was floating in an extra window, but also didn't show up in the window menu.

The timeline panel is named as the composition it shows - have a look for this in the window menu.

Adobe won't solve this bug in the next 1000 years, so you better always copy your old workspace to the new version. See this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/updated-to-ae2019-16-1-and-lost-my-workspace/m-p/10450671?page=1#M84879

I'm having this problem in 24.1.0 three years later. The timeline toggle in the window menu has vanished along with the timeline. Annoying.
