timer/counter removal

Hello. I've very new to After Effects. I purchased a template and there is a timer that I can't seem to remove from the video. I'm hoping it's a click of an item somewhere in one of the drop-down menus. I've searched and can't seem to find how to do remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct answer Mylenium

That's not a menu item, it's the good old Timecode effect (or Numbers effect in TC mode) applied to one of your layers. You have to sift through them and disable/ delete it.

This did the trick. Thank you so much Mylenium! I think I lost some of my hair in the process from pulling it out before your answer. 🙂

Start soloing and/or turning layers on and off until you find the layer that is creating the counter. If the counter and some additional footage show are both on the same layer then that layer is either a nested cop with more than one layer in it or the counter is baked in the source footage.
