Hello. I am on a MacBook Pro using AE 21. I have a stock footage file that has a guy on a computer and the computer screen is green with 5 tracker marks on it. Somehow I managed to replace the green screen, but then I have the marks left. I was able to replace the green screen in Premiere, though. I am sorry that I am new and not sure which program to use. I saw more tutorials for removing the marks in AE, such as the one below:
But this one mentions Mocha, as many others did. Unfortunately this is something I do not have. Do I need Mocha to remove them? I have been trying to use the Track Motion and cloning, but obviously when the video is in motion, they appear or are partially hidden.
here is an example of the footage for a visual: https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-1053513836-man-home-sitting-while-working-on-green
Looking for some guidance on how to move forward with this. What are the tracker marks useful for? Really asking here without trying to sound like a snob (for my own interest and understanding.) Thank you for your time.
Hi:
I'm not sure what effect you used but I would use keylight with spill suppressor. After you apply the effect and choose the screen color turn the FX button on in the effects control panels for advanced spill suppressor and adjust the alpha contrast.
I hope that this helps.

Wow thank you! These tips really helped. I followed this https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/after-effects-green-screen/ and was able to do what I had to achieve. Wow this is amazing.

I would track a shot like that in Mocha and use Corner Pin to replace the screen if the camera or the screen moved, but since there is no movement in the camera of the screen a simple corner pin applied to the replacement layer is all that is needed. You might throw in a slightly feathered mask. There is not a single frame in that shot that requires keying because nothing passes in front of the screen.
If your shot requires keying then use Keylight and add some masks to cover the tracking markers. It may require a little roto. If the camera or the screen is moving then by far the most efficient way to lock a replacement layer to the screen is to track the shot in Mocha AE. There are a lot of tutorials on that workflow. If you have no idea how to use Mocha AE start here.
