Hi,

 

Can someone tell me why i don't get option to choose "alpha matte" etc?

Track Mattes were updated in the last release.  You can now select any layer to be a track matte, instead of being limited to the layer above.  Are you using the latest version of After Effects.  The previous versions looked slightly different.

 

EDIT 

Sorry, ignore my original answer, zooming in on your picture, I can see you are using the latest version.  In this version of AE, once you have selected the layer, two boxes appear, one toggles between alpha and luma and the second toggles between inverted and straight.

Thank you for you're reply.

 

I still don't se an option to choos the alpha matte in the drop down meny.

 

In the drop down meny for "Track Matte" i only get option to choose the text layer or det video layer

Based on your screenshot, you're a slight movement of your mouse away setting the Track Matte to the Alpha of Layer 1 or Layer 3.  


Once selected, it should look like this:

After Effects 23.5, Track Matte of Layer 1 set to use the Alpha of Layer 2.After Effects 23.5, Track Matte of Layer 1 set to use the Alpha of Layer 2.
