Tracking a moving boat

Hi all,

I am attempting to track a moving boat and having text follow it. However I think because the boat subtly bobs up and down as it moves, it's causing the text to look jittery. Any tips to make the text continue to follow the boat but in a smoother fashion?

Go to window/smoother. Highlight the keyframes of the text and try changing the options to smooth out the motion.

Track the boat using Mocha AE. It will probably do a much better job, and you can preview and fix the track in the Mocha AE UI before applying the transformations to a null tied to the text.

We could give you some better suggestions if we saw the clip or at least a frame of the video.

As Rick said, show us the clip or at least some reference. No point in describing invisible elephants.
