Question

Unwrap 360 video, similar to GoPro Over Capture

Hi,

I'm looking at shooting some 360 video footage.

Free Capture from Insta360 and Over Capture from GoPro are both neat tools.

I was wondering whether I can create the same effect in After Effects with an spherical video?

Thanks,

Craig

Thanks for the reply. Pretty awesome huh   I was trying to figure out if it was possible to do similar moves but with only using Adobe tools. So, instead of having to use a GoPro and their over capture software I could use any pre-made 360 footage and do some crazy camera moves in After Effects.

I think I'll try sky box and see what happens

I'm not familiar with "over capture" but like I say, it does appear that is both GoPro footage where you see the camera on from his chest flying forward but then later, looks to be some 360 camera.  Now, I'm not sure they really did much with it, other than downloading the footage and editing it down.

But, skybox will for sure handle the 360 footage.

I don't see any particular "moves" like you say.  It's just the footage shot from the camera(s) from what I can tell.

Based on the limited info you're providing, I'm thinking yes.  The Skybox plugins are now being provided with After Effects following the recent merging of that product, created by Mettle.com.

Ah, sorry.
Basically, it looks like the functionality allows a virtual camera to move around the screen and alter the field of view at will.
In case you've not seen it here is the GoPro promo:

Well, one, that is some incredible footage there but I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve.  That appears to be goPro footage, mixed with some 360 camera footage.
