Using After Effects and Depth of Feild on Render Farm

I was wondering if anyone could help with an issue. We have a dedicated Render Node in our studio which is used for rendering 3d jobs etc, it's basically a box with a lot of CPU's and no GPU's so basically CPU power which is fine for Rendering 3d jobs. We also want to try and use it for rendering After Effects compositions so we have the After Effects render engine installed on there too. When we open up a AE composition from a watch folder it starts rendering but wont render the Depth of Field Camera Effect. Most Render Farms are CPU based, but does After Effects require a GPU to render the Depth of Field even though we ere just opening up the composition from the Render Engine Queue?

Any help would be great

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike,

Some effects are GPU accelerated while others require OpenGL, so it is a good idea to have a GPU installed inside every computer that renders these effects.

Thanks,
Kevin
