Question

Video stops playing when an audio effect is added to a video file (after effects)

I'm trying to add a reverb effect into my video, however, every time I try adding it into said clip, then I preview the video anywhere in the timeline, it just does nothing and when I stop replay, it skips back a frame or two. It does this with every audio effect avaliable to me except for tone. I've already tried restarting AE, precomposing the layer, changing audio hardware, but nothing seems to be working. If both "cache before playback" and "if caching, play cached frames" is on, or if just one is on, it produces the same result. I've uploaded a video to show what I mean. Any help would be much appreciated.

No dice. Your video is nowhere to be seen and you also didn#t provide any of the relevant info about your system, your audio preferences, your preview settings and so on. this is not going anywhere. That said, why not simply do it in Audition or Premiere? AE sucks at anything with audio and it is usually simply not worth putting up with all the trouble when you have soem genuine realtime audio tools sitting next to it in your CC package...
