Files with the extension .aae files are usually files, which are created by the operating systems OS X Yosemite or iOS 8 on the Mac, iPhones or iPads. Basically it is additional files that are created next to the actual jpg-photo-file.

An AAE file contains edits made to an image using the Photos app on an iOS device. THey appear ti be new and with all news things compatibility with other software is hit and miss until they adopt the format. Looks to be nothing more than metadata files basically. Not likely something that ExtendScript can do anything with really. What are you trying to script with these?
