Hello, at the moment I have a GTX 1050 2gb, I do not have enough for AE. I'm thinking of switching to AMD RX 480 8GB. Will it perform better in AE than the GTX 1050?
Also, will the RX 480 8GB support render acceleration?

The question of what card to get is 90% irrelevant, TBH. AE's GPU usage is still minor and even where it is used the differences of effects running in GPU mode vs. CPU are neglegible. Combined with the fact that a lot of times AE will simply revert to CPU anyway when the project structure is too complex or other factors make it do so, spending big on an expensive graphics card just for AE makes absolutely no sense. You likely won't see any difference compared to your GTX 1050. The rest is a matter of preference and what else you want to do with your GPU.

The only time I have been affected by GPU brand choice with After Effects was on an old laptop with a graphics card not compatible with Video Copilot's Element 3D.
This list on their website might not be up to date, but serves as a useful guide:

As Mylenium says most graphics card use with AE has minimal differences, but independent developers will find some easier to use than others, so that I am sharing that link
