Hello all and whoever could help me,

Recently I downloaded a pack from Rocketstock called Interface HUD 400+ files...
It includes a bunch of different .mov video files and it was put into 1 ae project so I can just drag and drop it in. However, whenever I drop it in, I don't even have to do anything to make my after effects and my whole computer completely lag and slow down. The program does not crash but everything on my computer becomes super slow and laggy where it takes minutes to click on something. My after effects is fine when I don't import this Interface pack but many people have it and it works for them... however for me, my whole computer lags and I do not know why.
NOTE: When I check my task manager for the performance when I open up that interface pack, my Memory and Disk reach around 100% and I do not know why...

I tried changing preferences for the Memory and I gave After effects 6b out of my 8gb, and I tried Media cache and etc.. that stuff doesnt change much.

Website for Interface pack:
Interface: 400+ HUD Video Assets from RocketStock

PC Specs:
- Intel i5 7500 (3.4Ghz)
- 8gb RAM DDR4 2400mhz
- GTX 1060 6GB VRAM
- 1TB HDD Western Digital (7200rpm)

Let me know if you need to know anything else... but I really need help! Thank you

Correct answer Dave_LaRonde

8 gigs is not very much memory for running AE.  16 gigs would be a lot better.

Would you care to explain how it would fix my problem?

I dont know enough about ram and how it would affect my whole computer. I just drop my pack and it affects everything.. I havent even rendered anything yet.

So please let me know and elaborate!

Plain and simple -- AE is a RAM hog.  It likes lots of it.  And you can demonstrate it for yourself.  Instead of putting a project with 400 clips into a new project, make a new project with just ONE of the clips in it and see what happens.

And having 400 clips at your fingertips just to choose a few is a pretty inefficient way to work.  You have to pick the clips you want anyway, so just do it BEFORE you import the ones you need into the project.  In the long run you'll be happier.

And get more RAM!
