i was editing text and following a tutorial an it said press option text asterisk 4 so i did and it made my composition go white idk how to fix it and ive spent like 3 hours on this im crying someone HELP PLEASE

What tutorial? 

 

Alt/Option + 4 shows the alpha channel in the Composition, Footage, or Layer Panel. Pressing Alt + 4 again returns the viewer to RGB. If your whole composition panel turns white, then you have a solid layer in the composition because a white Alpha channel equals no transparency, and black equals transparency.
