The amount of time it takes the camera tracker to analyze a shot and solve a camera depends on the frame size, the frame rate, and the type of shot. It takes at least four times longer to analyze 4K footage than it does to analyze HD footage because there are four times more pixels. It takes twice as long to analyze 60 fps footage than it does to analyze 30 fps footage. 

30-seconds is a very long shot. The average length of a shot in an action movie is 4 seconds. It's about 12 seconds in a documentary. Make sure you are not tracking unnecessary parts of a shot. 

Motion blur, jerky camera movement, dramatic lighting changes, and the lack of a good amount of fixed geometry that has sufficient detail in a shot complicate the analysis and increase the chances for a tracking failure. 

Eight to ten minutes to analyze a 30-second shot is not at all unreasonable, even on a powerful machine. Other apps running in the background, improper RAM allocation, or even the codec used for the footage can also increase the time it takes to analyze a shot. You can figure out if the codec is the problem if you try rendering a ProRez copy of the footage and compare the tracking time with the original footage. You may see significant performance gains if the original footage is an MP4 or H.265 original.
