I regularly remote in to my beefy work tower pc from home using a program called Parsec. I've heard of services that allow you to render or play video games remotely using their beefy servers/farms that can meet those processing/memory demands. I wonder if a similar service already exists for using programs like AE?? Though then you'd have to pay a regular fee for access instead of saving for your own stronger machine.

Ae would need an entire ui redesign to make it chrome campadible and nerf a lot of effects and graphics

apps like adobe after effects can't be on chromebooks because it's not advance like a basic windows or macbook. Chromebooks are just a google tablet with a keybaord and trackpad and ae isn't for mobile which is more of the side chromebooks are on.

Agree with Rick. Chromebooks are cheap because they are merely meant for basic web surfing and office stuff. It's extremely unlikely any company would bother to even produce a Chromebook that has enough juice for AE and in light of that it makes no sense for Adobe to invest the development resources. In short: It's never gonna happen.

Chromebooks use an OS developed by Google, limited storage, barely meet the memory requirements, and lack the GPU supported needed for AE. I would rather that Adobe spend more time optimizing performance and reliability on machines capable of processing every pixel on every layer on every frame than throw a totally new OS limited to an extremely small portion of the computers in the market.

A better route would be to make an appeal to Google to integrate more storage, power, GPU capabilities and encourage them to use a standard OS in their modified tablet trying to be a laptop line of products.
