💡 Use WinUI for menus and title bar (Windows)

Macos has the best visual treatment, I think it's time for Windows to have a little love.

Now that After Effects standardized the themes (dark/white) It would be great to replace the ugly old white menus and title bar in Windows with the current WinUI ones.

This will allow them to be responsive to the system theme and add a nice blur effect as happens in MacOS.

For example, this is what the menus look like in Paint., Winui allows each developer to define the size of the menus.

Thanks.

I managed to get a dark mode with transparencies, but obviously the ideal would be to achieve this with modern Windows menus (WinUI) and be accessible to everyone. AE(AI, Premiere...) team, make it possible. 🙌

After Effects uses the bright white and eye-seering default windows menu bar even though Photoshop and Illustrator have had this integrated into their dark theme with the title bar for some time now. See attached image for what I mean.

This is a real shame as it looks janky and antiquated in comparison, plus those of us who work in dark envirmoents or want to preserve our oled displays are stuck because Windows has no decent workaround for this other than using the frankly very ugly high contrast mode.

I've been desperately trying to find a work around and have failed, so please Adobe, update AFX's menu bar to be consistent with the other software in your suite. Pretty please?

I agree. It's a rather unpleasant experience to be accosted by the light. This behavior is somewhat behind the times. Modern well-behaved apps on Windows are expected to respect the user's app theme preferences specified at the OS-level.
