After Effects 2020 and MAXON CINEWARE R21 (C4D Lite) - bugs/errors

I recently updated to the latest Adobe CC 2020 but After Effects CC 2020 was buggy (the preview window would play off screen and I haven't seen a fix suggestion within the community for it yet) so I just reverted back to AE CC 2019 in the meantime, as I couldn't work around this bug. I'm working predominantly in C4D Lite and I'm now in a mess because I started the project in C4D Lite *R21* via AE CC 2020 which then wouldn't open properly to render in AE CC 2019... I even opened the same C4D project in C4D Lite *R19* and saved it down, but it still won't let me work on it in AE CC 2019...
The video preview in AE 19 is stuck on the first frame which is also not using the same screen dimensions I was working to in C4D Lite. I can't preview my animation, let alone render my work...
The error messages I'm receiving are:
"After Effects: AEGP Plugin CINEWARE SceneLayer: CINEWARE CloseThread - Open failed ( 5027 :: 12)"
and
"Graphics Driver Error - Please check if your graphics driver and OS are up to date. Crash information can be found in <filepath> After clicking 'OK' unsaved scene files will be saved as '_bugreports/_recovery_xxx.c4d".
I was rendering from C4D R19 to AE CC 19 fine until I updated CC to 2020 a week ago. Please offer any suggestions.
Thanking the Adobe Supporty Community in advance! 🙂
