Question

After Effects & Premiere crashes Catalina

It's becoming impossible to use. Everything is on external drives. I've done the Command+Option+P+R restart.

And I can barely work 5 min without everything freezing and shutting down.

HELP!

I am having exact same issue. Freeze, and hard crash that reboots the computer. Sometimes I can shell in from another computer and diagnose, not with this. its a hard crash.

Are you on a Mac, too?

I'm on Windows and no issue at all. I actually never had any problems with PR or AE on Windows (running the latest version).

Run out of Catalina, go up to Big Sur or if your system can't then go down to Mojave. Catalina really sucks.

Changed to Big Sur....same issues.

I reset and cleared everything.

It was still crashing.

I switched to older versions of Premiere & AE and they're working better.

Working "better"...still far from ideal.

Clearly the software isn't vibing with Catalina.

Could you share your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)? Also, do you see any error message or crash report?
