Question

After effects cc 2020 crashes on opening

I own a refurbished HP ZBOOK g3 at work and out of nowhere After Effects crashes everytime I try to open it.

I have tried to uninstall the whole creative cloud, along with all my preferences.

Restarted my laptop.

Tried to install previous versions, but all of them crash upon start.

Here is a downloadable link to my .crash file generated from After Effects.

Bump.

I've tried all that was mentioned, but to no avail. I haven't been able to use After effects on that machine.

Sorry for the delay. Could you share the crash report again? Because you changed the OS, the crash report could be different this time. Also, what's the last loading module on the splash screen right before After Effects crashes?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Nishu

This is the last thing showing up on the splash screen before the crash report pops up.

Here's the latest crash report - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1drwBPjJYgyvxDcHmIDM-qg2x-6YNdKgH/view?usp=sharing

Thank you so much for looking into this.

Hi default2i1z26ac0dpy,

Thanks for reaching out.

Could you share your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM)? Also, do you see any error message when it crashes? The Google Drive link that you shared needs permission to access. Could you share a download link to it?

We're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu
