After Effects CRASH Autosave set, but yet nothing in autosave folder and reverted back to a

After Effects CRASH Autosave set, but yet nothing in autosave folder, and the project I was working on reverted back to a version from yesterday morning. WTF!!

I just had an After Effects crash, and when I went to reopen it, the project was dated 36 hours in the past, and when I went to my autosave folder, the project had NO copies.  

My Autosave is set for every 20 minutes, and the autosave folder indicates it was modified at the time it should have autosaved (Just prior to the crash), but NOTHING is in the autosaved folder.

I've been working back and forth between AFX and Premiere, so I was frequently saving, but after the crash, the last version saved in the CC folder had a timestamp 36 hours earlier, and none of the work I had done between then and now was in there.

WHAT HAPPENED? Is there any chance I can get that work back?
