Question

After effects is not using the GeForce GTX 1070 GPU

I have reviewed on the Adobe page the list of effects that use GPU acceleration, and I have noticed that when I use the program it never uses the GPU, it is also very slow, unlike Premiere Pro where if you can see it in the task manager the constant use it gives the GPU and especially the good performance and speed of the program.
In after effects I have enabled all the GPU acceleration options but still do not use this, what could be the problem?

I have a core i 7 7700HQ, 16 GB of RAM and GeForce GTX 1070

There is no problem. This is the actual "GPU support" of AE.

Those few effects are so easy to caluculat for your GPU, you barly notice. I see my GTX 1080 spiking to 10% for a split second when rendering Gaußian Blur.

The main work is still done by CPU and that's what slows down AE.

PR works different, you cannot compare those two softwares. However, Adobe is lazy af to update AE. We are waiting for years now.

Would you also check the setting of Nividia control panel?

3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > After Effects > CUDA
