Dynamic link (PP to AE) imports blank composition

Im having a very fustrating issue. Im working om a music video and been at it for about 3 days now. I was able to “replace with ae composition” with two seperate clips yesterday. Now today im going in on more clips to add line animations and, at first, AE wouldnt import a single clip, giving me the generic error message.

I uninstalled PP and once it was back up i was able to atleast import the clip (replacing with AE comp) but now all i get is an empty timeline and black comp window BUT if i go and open the first two instances from the day before via rencent projects BOOM i have a timeline with footage and comp window with an image.

I then try again while in this previous, working project; to replace new clips from pp with ae comps and of course they have black comp windows and empty timelines. Only on the newly linked clips. I HAVE BOUT HAD IT WITH CC! Any suggestions!?

    Hi quintonlamonte,

    Thanks for reaching out. Dynamic link should work fine if the version of both the applications is in sync. It sounds strange where you mentioned that it worked fine before and now it is importing black composition(with no preview).

    Please test the issue with a new project and a new sequence and then let us know how that goes.

    Alright so I’ll add the program versions at the bottom of the reply but I want to bring up how I decided to instead just render in and out and begin export the video. My idea is to ale a second project and then add AE edits on that.

    The estimated time left for the render is 136 hours. That is insane and my client is growing more and more upset with me.

    My my computer is moving so dangerously slow right now I can barely navIgate to see which versions  of the apps i have. and just now my Adobe Cloud Helper has stopped and telling me it needs repair.

    UPDATE

    i have managed to close all the adobe processes and my helper is gone. It gave me a message saying I didn’t have disk space left but I have over 400 gigs unused still don’t know the version of AE I have but i have the oldest version of PP that’s available to install via the helper
