Fade People to Logo

Hey everybody,

I am working on a video where I want to fade four people, who will be standing like the attached logo, into the logo, as a ending scene. Essentially, it would transition from a full shot of them standing somewhere to the logo on some background, ideally in a pretty smooth way. If there a specific effect for this, or name for what this is to find a tutorial?

    A simple crossfade will do in a pinch, but of course you can wear yourself out doing all sorts of tricks with masks, morphing and warping, which most likely is over your head, given your neophyte question. Of course my short reply is throwing enough keywords at you to do a web search which easily will turn up tons of tutorials. regardless, perhaps reading teh help first is a good place to start...
