My video rendering and effects settings are grayed out and I can't change it

Your system probably an incompatible GPU. Make sure your system meets the Minimum System Requirements. If the GPU is on the list then the driver may be out of date or improperly installed. A little system info would be helpful.

I updated my gpu but it still seems to disable me changing the software
