Question

Particular - making leaves fall off a tree-changing gravity over time possible?

I'm still really new to after effects, and I'm using particular to create leaves growing on a vine.  It works great.  The only thing is now at the end of my composition I want all the leaves to fall off.  I was hoping to be able to use a keyframe on the gravity variable, but that doesn't seem possible (from what I can tell).  Can anyone recommend another way to achieve a realistic "letting go" of the leaves?  Thank you!

Hello,

This tutorial video might be useful.

Thanks for that, but that isn’t what I’m wanting to do. This is just like a falling effect. I am hoping to have gravity turned off and then toward the end of the sequence turn it on so the particles fall. I hope that makes sense?

If you're using Particular's features to do the "growing," I don't think there will be a way to achieve what you're after using gravity.
You can keyframe the Physics Time Factor, but that will also keep particles from appearing/growing/whatever.

I would take a look at the Wind (under Physics), which you can keyframe - you might be able to achieve your look that way. You can also check out the turbulence/spherical fields (a bit further down in Physics) that you could potentially use to push/scatter them in a desired direction.
