Question

Premiere - AE link dropping frames.

Hello, i've encountered this problem on two different computers during two different projects.

Here is the issue;

When I select a clip/sequence/series of clips in Adobe Premiere, and I replace it with an AE comp to do something, occasionally the clips will randomly gather spaces between them and on playback in Premiere or AE there will be black flashes due to the dropped frames/moved clips on the cuts. The issue occurs somewhere between initial send from Premiere to AE. It will happen with single clips, nested sequences, a group of clips, pretty much every time I link to AE this happens. Am I just doing something wrong?

    Check if the same frame rates and sequence settings match the linked after effects comp settings,

    maybe its a premiere pro sequence settings not translated correctly into all the available settings in after effects.

    Can you tell us more, what are your premiere pro sequence settings ? and what kind of footage are you working with ?

    Sequence and comp settings match. I think I know what might be causing it, but I'm unsure how to fix it. I do a lot of slow motion work, and now that you mention that I think that the slowed frame rate is causing the issue. I shoot in 60fps and slow 40% to achieve 24fps. It's 1080p Sony footage.

    if you just drop the 60fps footage into a 24fps sequence without changing the speed ? try it out
