Question

Text is cutoff. Problems with text layers

There is text to the right of for but its hidden for some reason. I don't see any obvious means of adjusting the text layer's bounding boxes. It's completely cutoff.

This is on adobe cc2018.

I'm having the same problem,  version 15.1.0.  Here's a re-creation.  Notice the text animator's position range.  The type I have written there is "Text" and the T is cut off by the text creation box.  It is essentially acting as a mask and I need to figure out how to turn it off as I use text animators frequently and will continue to have this issue.  I don't know what I'm missing, this isn't a font issue.   As I side note, I also had an issue where 3d text was disappearing completely with files that were built in an older version of 2018 and then opened with the new update.  These particular bits of text were created in Photoshop and converted to text in AE.  Any 3d text I've created within the new update has worked fine with exception to the clipping.

Have you tried not to create a box?. Simply click over the composition and write your text (not click and drag)

Thanks a bunch.

BTW, CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+T creates a New (Point) Text Layer; complete, with the text insertion visual indicator.

This could be a formatting problem. If you have created a Box Text before writing, then you need to double-click in the text to adjust the box size.

Try it and tell us if it works.

Hi Vincent,

Please mention the current version of After Effects (15.1 or 15.0.1), OS and the font used for creating this text layer.

This might be an issue with the font itself so try converting a font to ttf or otf and check if it helps.
