yes i have found a fix after days of trying to rearrange codes and files. Instructions Below Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plugins/7.0/MediaCore Inside Medicore Folder Erase everything except dummy.txt......Once Erased Restart System and run After Effects. If you are on a Windows computer check driver compatibility by goggling Adobe After Effects System Requirements, If drivers are not up to date install older version of AFTER EFFECTS or Visit developer.nividia. com and download video driver needed for using After Effects 17.02. After Compatibility check is solved. Navigate to C;/Program Files/Adobe and erase Mediacore folder completely then Refresh system and run After Effects.

Thsi worked for me as well... it must be that AfterEffects needs to rebuild a plugin database...

Hi,

maybe you made my same mistake going inside to User folder, but the correct ways is go to:

Machintos HD (go to Documents folder, press command+↑(UP) three times), then open Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Common/Plugins/7.0/MediaCore Inside Medicore Folder Erase everything except dummy.txt ...

Hi Farmina,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are not able to open After Effects. Please share the following information so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly.

  • Are you using any third-party plugin for After Effects?
  • When exactly After Effects crashes? Do you see the splash screen or it crashes right after you launch it?
  • If you are using any anti-virus then try disabling it and check the issue.

Let us know. We're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

I have the same problem as him, he does not start the application and that message comes out and after the Mac crash log of After Effects, I read something about black magic that has problems, something about DeckLink and knows how much, but I already tried to eliminate them and nothing .

Hi all,

Are you in an enterprise environment? Could you check if Deep Freeze is installed on your computer? If yes, please try removing it and check if you are able to launch After Effects.

Let us know.

Thanks,

Nishu
