So I can't hear audio in animate, but only in testing, exporting, or preview.
Yet all of these dont seem to help! I want someone to please explain what's going on and how I can fix it. I'm a mac using btw

that is because when I go into an older fla that had working sound scrub before, it does not work anymore. all sound scrub just stopped working in all of my fla's suddenly.

sounds are perfectly fine, it's just adobe animate sound scrub.

it's not just a scrubbing the timeline problem. you said library sounds fail to play too, correct?

yeah library sounds sounds aswell, but when I export it with ctrl + enter i can hear the sound.

Go to Control > Mute Sounds, make sure the option is unchecked.

Do you have a screen sharing service like OBS installed in your computer? Do you use it regularly?

I don't know what it is but all the people I've seen on this forum with this problem have this software installed and it seems to change something in your system sounds. I gotta be honest, troubleshooting hasn't worked in any of these cases, the only solutions so far is to restore your system to an earlier point or, in the worst of cases, reinstall your operating system. If you can pinpoint the exact setting that is being changed please let us know.
