Adobe Animate Error 205

Recently I have an issue with Animate on macOS. When I open it I get the message:

Sorry, Animate has encountered an error and needs to close.
You will not be able to use Animate at this time. Please contact Customer Support and use the reference code 205 for more information on how to resolve this issue.

I tried deleting and reinstalling Animate, logging out of creative cloud, and restarting my computer but I still see the error 205 message. I also tried installing older versions of Animate but I still have this problem.

do a clean cc install following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

i really shouldnt have to go through all this stress for something i pay so much for... i dont get how every app apart from animate works and i get 205 error, whats even more shocking is how this is an on going issue after 2-3 years!

Animate seems to have been abandoned by Adobe, so don't be surprised.
