I have already uninstalled and REinstalled this program numerous times, I have also already tried to update any missing java-runtime files, and I have already tried resetting Flash's system preferences. Any ideas on what is wrong?
I got around to doing a test of Flash Pro CS6 on an external drive, that is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and not APFS. I dragged the folder from Applications on my internal APFS drive, to a folder on the drive I use for Time Machine. When I opened that version I was given a message about it having to update the configuration files, which I let it do. Everything works ok, and there is no crash when doing an import.

Steve,
So am I supposed to pose my question on that forum instead?

Your post arrived here ok.
By copy to stage, do you mean you dragged something from the desktop? Are you using High Sierra on Mac?
That aside, one thing to watch out for when reinstalling CS6 is that the one you are given isn't the latest version of CS6. If you installed with the Creative Cloud menu, look in there again for an Update to CS6. Or, select Updates... from the Help menu in CS6, that should find its way to the updater for Flash Pro 12.0.2. That update had some useful additions over the 12.0 one.
If you are using High Sierra and get a crash when dragging something from Finder, or if you use File/Import, that has been reported. I posted a crash log in the hope that the Animate team can make suggestions on how it can be worked around. I haven't found a solution yet.
Someone else reported that they got around the issue by making an HFS+ partition, and that the crash only happens with APFS partitions.

Yeah I'm using High Sierra on Mac.
I've tried looking for updates for the CS6 version of Flash, but every time I go to click on the updates, it tells me, "the update no longer exists; install a new update manager." So installed the Creative Cloud App manager, but it doesn't allow me to update any of my CS6 programs; Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, none of them.
As far as the crashing goes, it is literally anything that is on the stage area; for example, if I was to draw a square, then select it and try to copy it, the whole program crashes. If I drag a graphic symbol to the stage and try to copy that, the result is the same. I'm just so puzzled because the WHOLE program works just fine.....until I try to copy something....which makes animating something quickly rather difficult.

The good news is that once you can figure out how to get the update (having the Creative Cloud desktop app is the right way, but make sure you're signed in to your account, and try the Help menu Updates.. option), I think the copy and paste should work ok. It does for me.
The much worse news is that CS6 will crash when you try to use import. If you end up drawing everything in Flash Pro you could achieve something, but if you need to import any external media at all, it will crash.
I will try to convince the Animate team to look at my crash log.

Well,....can't say that I like either of those options.....crawl out of one hole to fall into another. Thanks for all of your help.

I have given the crash log link to the Animate team, and also sent in a crash report to Apple. I'm sure Flash Pro won't be the only app to crash under APFS, and maybe Apple could fix that.

Finally was able to complete updates for ALL of my CS6 programs....but Flash is still crashing for the same reason as stated above.

It's a work around to the issue, but an easier work around than if you had to wipe your internal drive and reformat it to not be APFS.
