Adobe Flash CC Wacom pen issues.

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Ultrabook that has tablet functionality via Wacom. I have had no issue drawing within the Photoshop that I have had for months now, but when I just installed Flash CC, the tablet will not let me use the tablet pen to draw a line correctly. What it does is makes a long straight diagonal line every time I try to touch it to the screen, and then at the end of said line, it then will draw what I gesture with my hand. The problem is, its offset now to the end of the line, so it is completely unusable. It has no problem working if I were to use my finger on the touch screen instead of the pen, which is very strange.

Some things to note:

-Again, it works fine with the pen in other drawing apps like photoshop

-The issue persists with the default pen and a different brand pen that I frequently use.

-I have all my graphics drives updated

-I have the latest Wacom Feel it drivers

-I turned off all tablet settings that might interfere. Which shouldn't matter anyway if the pen works in other Adobe apps.

-I cant find a single thing online that comes anywhere close to what I need about this issue. I have no where else to turn! It seems like a Flash not being able to handle the tablet function settings.

-I am not a newbie to the Wacom functionality, so I have tried all of the obvious fixes.

Does anyone know of any fixes for this problem? I have the 30 day free trial of Flash, and I am not going to buy this if I cant get it resolved in the next month!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

This issue is reproducible on some specific devices only and is being investigated and tracked internally.Any progress on this will be conveyed.

Meanwhile if it is not a problem for you, could you please uninstall the driver for tablet and Flash(Use CC cleaner tool) and re-install the latest version of drivers from Legacy Drivers | Wacom  and also Flash Pro CC 2014 from Creative cloud. reboot the system and check if the issue happens??Because most of the times updation of the driver has helped

Hi,

The issue is resolved in the latest update of Flash Pro.Please update Flash professional to 14.1.0.96 .Follow the instruction below for the same :

Installation instructions

  1. Log out and log in to the CC desktop application. Update the application when prompted.
  2. You should see the list of new updates as soon as the new CC desktop application is launched.
  3. Install Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging app. On a high speed connection, it took me around 8 minutes.
  4. After the application is installed, you can launch the application directly from the desktop app by clicking on it.

Also, make sure the wacom drivers are latest and you are using the tablet in PEN mode and not Mouse mode.

Thanks & Regards,

Sangeeta

Hello,

I still have this problem. App crashes when I select drawing tools ( pencil, brush). Other tools work with offset.

OS: Windows 8.1

App: Flash CC 2014.1 (14.1.0.96)

Wacom tablet driver: 5.3.5-3

In the old version of the application was all perfectly (Flash CC berore 2014 version).

when I move all the way to the left they end up aligning at the far left

when I move down they end up aligning at the buttom

else they offset more and more the  further i move away from left and buttom

Hi Bas Kleverlaan,

The October 2014 update is for both Win & Mac.

Try

Help>Updates...

or

Quit your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application and relaunch and you should be able to see the updates for Flash CC 2014

After a successful update your build number should read 14.1.0.96

Thanks!

Mohan, this isn't working, hence my question. Help>Updates says all is up to date and the relaunch doesn't work either.

Hi Bas Kleverlaan,

Since your license is a Creative Cloud for Teams it is possible that your updates are suppressed in an admin pref file.

Can you please check if you have AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat at

Mac OS<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
Windows 7.0 and higher (64 bit) C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

If yes, just rename the file and access Help>Updates... menu and see if that helps.

More details at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/disable-auto-updates-application-manager.html

Thanks!

Thnx Mohan!

No such file at that location. Though it IS at C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat but renaming it didn't work.

I do have 4 folders in AAMUpdaterInventory :

AdobeAPE3.4_Win64_NoLocale

AdobeApplicationManager-1.0

AdobeDreamweavercc1564Bit

AdobeDreamweaverCC2014.1LangPacken_US-15.0.0

I do too have an old AAMUpdaterInventory which is full of folders with cc2014 from a previous joust with updates

hi , i saw you had the lines problem , and i had the same problem ,  the issu is to do with your computor screen settings ,  flash thinks your screen is bigger then it is , so you need to lower the resolutions (start by the lowest and try ) in your computor settings ,from your wacom tablet , that way it should be fixed

good luck

FYI: The pen pressure issue has been resolved. I still had my old Intuos tablet connected and used it's pen on the new Cintiq. The 2nd pen automatically shows up in the Wacom settings but it caused the pressure-sensitivity to malfuntion. Deleting the pen from the settings solved it.
