Adobe Flash CC Wacom pen issues.

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Ultrabook that has tablet functionality via Wacom. I have had no issue drawing within the Photoshop that I have had for months now, but when I just installed Flash CC, the tablet will not let me use the tablet pen to draw a line correctly. What it does is makes a long straight diagonal line every time I try to touch it to the screen, and then at the end of said line, it then will draw what I gesture with my hand. The problem is, its offset now to the end of the line, so it is completely unusable. It has no problem working if I were to use my finger on the touch screen instead of the pen, which is very strange.

Some things to note:

-Again, it works fine with the pen in other drawing apps like photoshop

-The issue persists with the default pen and a different brand pen that I frequently use.

-I have all my graphics drives updated

-I have the latest Wacom Feel it drivers

-I turned off all tablet settings that might interfere. Which shouldn't matter anyway if the pen works in other Adobe apps.

-I cant find a single thing online that comes anywhere close to what I need about this issue. I have no where else to turn! It seems like a Flash not being able to handle the tablet function settings.

-I am not a newbie to the Wacom functionality, so I have tried all of the obvious fixes.

Does anyone know of any fixes for this problem? I have the 30 day free trial of Flash, and I am not going to buy this if I cant get it resolved in the next month!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

This issue is reproducible on some specific devices only and is being investigated and tracked internally.Any progress on this will be conveyed.

Meanwhile if it is not a problem for you, could you please uninstall the driver for tablet and Flash(Use CC cleaner tool) and re-install the latest version of drivers from Legacy Drivers | Wacom  and also Flash Pro CC 2014 from Creative cloud. reboot the system and check if the issue happens??Because most of the times updation of the driver has helped

Why are these recommendations still being made for trying to debug the issue?  They've already been made in the post, and as digitallamb‌ has shown from following all of these routes, text DPI and monitor mode (and resolution etc) aren't solving the problem.

Are you guys at least reproducing the problem and working on a fix to push our way?  This seems like you're still in the "we don't know what's wrong but these things may help?" phase.  Similarly, if you can't reproduce the problem, your questions should be changing instead of continuing to repeat the same recommendations so we can try to help you...

the problem still happens - the only way is to run flash on a single standalone monitor

its like the draw area gets multiplied by the total screen realestate when you are using more than one monitor

Hi Mukesh,

Text is set to 100% (default)

I'm running Flash on an Alienware Laptop with a 22" monitor plugged in.  I tried running Flash on the laptop monitor - new doc as you suggest, but the problem is still there.  However, if I remove the second monitor (unplug vga) and just use the laptop, all is fine - of course thats not helpful because its only a 14" screen.

Hope this info helps find a fix!

I just opened Flash CS6 and surprise surprise, the pen tool works perfectly with the Wacom even with dual screens. I open Flash CC 2015 and the line issue is still there.

This confirms to me that it's not a dual monitor issue, screen resolution issue or even a Wacom driver issue. As discussed, it's a Flash issue.

Looking forward to an update.

Just a quick info - turning on Lazy Nezumi Pro, hooking Flash CC window fixed the issue for me. You can get trial for free. Hope it helps until Adobe fixes this bug.

Ive been having the same issue as digitallamb. Im using a Cintiq Companion 2. Prior to updating to CC 2015, the 2014 edition worked fine. Now even if I downgrade to 2014 the bug still appears. I've tried many of the suggestions posted so far, and am disappointed to say they dont work. The lazy nezumi fix is the closest thing to a success, although it produces very shaky lines and is therefore unusable. I've adjusted resolution, changed drivers, switched from and to mouse mode, etc.

I can draw properly in cs6. Please figure out what is wrong with your product

Count me among the others with this same problem (horizontal lines as soon as pen touches screen). I've tried all the suggestions to no avail. I did not have this problem prior to the recent update from the past month or so.

Same problem happening. Using dual screen, Intuos Pro tablet, Windows 8.1. I've reinstalled Flash, the Wacom drivers and followed all the other suggestions...Only thing that fixes it is using just one screen.

I eagerly installed the new version but alas, I'm still getting the same issue.

All these lines are single clicks using the brush tool. As you can see I am using Flash Professional CC 2015 v15.0.1.179 which I have just updated (restarted the computer too).

Does anyone have any constructive suggestions?

Hi,

It may happen if your tablet is mapped to Mouse mode. Can you please map your tablet to the default option i.e. Pen mode in your Tablet properties dialog and see if that helps?

Thanks!

I am getting the same issue as well. As soon as I start drawing the brush position jumps off canvas to the lower right from where I put the pen down. If I continue drawing and move the pen up and to the left I can see that it's still drawing like normal, there just seems to be an offset problem.  Flash is completely up to date.

I am using Windows 8.1 on the latest update. My graphics tablet is the Wacom Companion 2 with driver version 6.3.11-4. I am not using dual monitors, just the single screen that the Companion has. The resolution is 2560 x 1440.

Additionally the display scaling is set to 175%, which is the default for Companions I believe. I would appreciate some help as I cannot use Flash at all with this issue.

Just to update: I tried Flash with no display scaling on Windows 8.1 and it works fine, so at least the issue I am getting is directly related to the display scaling. Something must have broken in the newest update as I didn't get the issue until updating to the 2015 version.

WORKAROUND FOUND
Screenshot (3).png
I was having this this problem earlier and it really annoyed me, i've found a workaround that works for me (windows 8.1, intuos pro, flash cc 2015 (latest update), single monitor).
while flash is open, go to services ( you can find it here: Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools or search for services.msc) and restart wacom professional service.Screenshot (4).png
This only works when Flash is already open. If this works for you i would suggest you pin services to your taskbar as you'll need it every time you open flash.

This is only a workaround, i really hope i've helped someone with this and let's hope that this issue get's solved in an update

Oh man kristofl84031471, you just made me a very happy person. Finally a work around that actually works. Yes it's not ideal, but at least it's something.

Thank you so much. Sending a virtual high 5 down the internet towards you.

Oh and I'm using Windows 7, Intuous3, dual monitors.

Now we just wait for Adobe to fix the bug itself.

Hi

Thanks to kristofl84031471
I fixed the problem with his solution :

"I was having this this problem earlier and it really annoyed me, i've found a workaround that works for me (windows 8.1, intuos pro, flash cc 2015 (latest update), single monitor).

while flash is open, go to services ( you can find it here: Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools or search for services.msc) and restart wacom professional service."

but I've got to restart wacom professional service each time I restart Flash CC

My config:

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Intuos 4 -  driver version WacomTablet_6.3.15-1.exe

Adobe Flash CC 2015 (latest update)
