Adobe Media Encoder failed to encode with the following exception : TypeError: null is not an object

Hey,

I'm a new user to Adobe Animate, making really simple animation, no coding or scripting, just using the motion tween options and masks. I tried exporting the project with the "Export Video/Media" option using the format H.264, yet I keep getting this error:

"Adobe Media Encoder failed to encode with the following exception : TypeError: null is not an object"

I succeeded exporting that way other projects in the past. What could be the issue?

Please help.

Thank you!

I have the same problem! I uninstalled, re-installed both apps and still I cannot export anything as a video, I tried new files etc, nothing works. I can however export them as image sequences.

Please Help!! Google search does not help on this issue :(((

    is your animate updated (v.23.0)?

leave ame open and retry exporting from animate

if that fails, change your export format and retry with ame still open

Thank you for the quick response!

I'm trying to export from Animate while AME is open and the issue still occurs.

Tried multiple formats and it doesn't work.

Exporting works as it should when trying other files.

Is there any way to locate the "null object" the message talks about?

"Is there any way to locate the "null object" the message talks about?", no.

    what version of animate?

    v.23.0.

I opended a new Animate file and copied each layer, one by one, and exported after pasting each one. After I finished pasting all the layers in the original file I succeeded exporting just fine. Luckily it's a small file, but I'd like to learn a way solving this error without pasting all the layers to another file.
