Animate 2020 crashes every time I create a new canvas

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
Mojave 10.14.4 (18E226)

 

I downloaded Animate for the first time and it crashes as soon as I try to create a document / canvas. The splash screen opens fine and I've looked through the 'new features' bit, then it consistently crashes when I create a new canvas.

 

Things I have tried:

- Uninstalling (removing preferences) and reinstlling

- Renaming the preferences folder
- Changing all permissions to 'read & write'

- Reinstalling again

 

Any help with this would be really appreciated

Hi -  can you please share the crash report that you get when this happens?

Hi Moham,

 

I'm not getting a report. I've repeated the process and waited many times. As soon as click on the 'Create' button, everything vanishes immediately.

 

On one occassion I did get the attached message, but usually nothing.
