I can't even re-embed the fonts, defaults to Helvetica and just displays boxes.

I'm on ventura, but yes i just checked and fonts are completely broken. Just get Helvetca 😞

Time to install 2023 version and wait a while i guess 😞

We are unable to identify the issue. Could you please share a screen recording of the issue with the sample file? This will help us to investigate it further.

This is using actionscript document:

Add a new text box to stage. Choose a font. Make it a dynamic text box. Embed the font. Then select the embeded font from the list. You will see it's broken, it doesn;t display the font. If you try to preview it will tell you the font is not embeded.

So embedding is the issue. Does that play out for you or do you need more info?

When you embed a font and give it a name, that embedded font with your name should be availible to select from the font list. It isn't. This means you can't embed the fonts.

i don't see a problem.

i create a dynamic textfield

assign it a font

embed the font and assign it a library name

i create another textfield and select the custom name i gave previously from the top of the font list

i assign text in actionscript to both textfields.

i mask one of the textfields to confirm the font's embedded.

It can be static. I was just suggesting to follow the steps we did to find the bug.

1- embedd a font to the library

2- make a textfield 

3- in the properties panel of the textfield set the Character property to the embedded font

4- the result will change it to Helvetica and not the embedded font

not for me, using

0- create as3 project

1- embed a font to the library by right clicking in the library > new font > etc

2- make a dynamic textfield using the drawing tools

3- in the properties panel with the textfield selected, set the Character property to the embedded font

4- type text into the on-stage textfield
