I just updated my MacOS from High Sierra to Catalina 10.15.7, and Adobe Animate won't run anymore. Looking at the first post in this thread, this has been a problem for a month now. Is this not a priority for Adobe? What's going on here? Is there at least a workaround that anyone has found?
Upon further inspection, it appears that luckily, Create Cloud allows me to install the older Animate version - v20.5.1, which runs fine under Catalina. At least that allows me to do my work until Adobe fixes this issue, whenever they get around to it.
Thank you I was tearing my hair out over here. I even went so far as to completelly uninstall all Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, etc etc) and the Creative Cloud application itself, as well as to delete all Adobe related files I could find in ~/Library/, but still had the same problem after reinstalling the Creative Cloud applications with Animate still crashing on start. But after reading your comment here I went and installed version 20.5.1 of Animate instead of version 21.0.
Hoping that Adobe will fix this issue, but for now at least I have version 20.5.1.
Hi - Do you have Courier Condensed Bold.ttf font installed on your system? If yes, could you please remove the same and see if that helps while we are investigating this?
I have this exact same issue. I've tried renaming "Users/<userName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder to say Adobe_backup and launch Animate", and I'm still receiving that same error message without it opening.
Hi - Do you have fonts enabled in Creative Cloud desktop app? Can you please zip and share /Users/<userName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder for us to take a look?
Also, can you try renaming CoreSync folder insdie the Adobe folder and see if you are able to launch Animate without any issues?
