Question

Animate CC transparency

Hello All,

I am an Animate newbie, please handle me with care 🙂

I had to dive into it this week to try and do a little (very simple) moving image work for a client. I have just one problem that I hope someone can help with.

I created layered artwork in Illustrator, which I then imported into Animate. I am simply doing some fade in / fade outs of these layers along a timeline... but when the alpha transparency is below 100%, the artwork 'patches' can be seen (please see the attached). I have grouped the bits that comprise the artwork (which, in Illustrator, gets over this) but this does not help.

I'm sure it's really simple... if I promise to learn the application v soon, could someone help me for now? 🙂

Thank you

Yeah this is common. It's because the alpha is being applied to each object separately. Couple of workarounds:
1. Use Tint to a solid color that is the same as background if possible
2. Go into the symbol containg the artwork, select all and break apart until flat vector art. Sometimes this causes issues if you have a combination of shapes and strokes.

If AS3 document, fix by changing to a movieclip (if not already) and setting Blending to Layer.

If Canvas document, fix by changing to a movieclip (if not already) and setting Render to Cache as Bitmap.
