Animate: coloring key frame objects

Can I color the object/shapes in multiple frames by coloring the source object/shape in my initial keyframe only once?  Example, initial keyframe (1) contains drawing of object/shape which is figure with a jacket.  Subsequent 10 kf are drawings of same figure with jacket.  Can I  paint original kf (1) only of jacket in red color and have subsequent ten frames with red color jacket?
