It would be cool to be able to import figma, sketch and adobe xd layers into animate for animation and prototyping. Especially for those of us who once rocked out in flash. Being able to take animations and prototypes and converting them into popular video formats and/or lottie and coded examples (like XD and Figma does for prototyping) would be even more awesome.

I agree that it would be cool to create animations and prototypes. And then convert them to popular video formats. In fact creating videos is an art form. For me. I'm new at this. And I don't know all the programs. So I'm slowly learning something new. And in the future I want to make such a great animated videos. That everyone will be jealous. But for now I'm ordering videos for my company from Galera Agency. I look at their example and learn. Also registered on such forums in order to learn something new. I hope it will be possible to import figma, sketch and adobe xd layers into animate for animation and prototyping.

Hi.
I think I don't get your idea.
Although Animate was not meant to be a prototyping tool, you can certainly prototype with it. Prototypes can be even more advanced than those created by the aforementioned tools since in Animate you can write code (AS3 or JavaScript), whereas on these platforms you rely on triggers and other pre-determined options.
In the end, you decide whether you want an interactive or non-interactive output, such as a video.
Also, althought it's not ideal, you can publish a prototype in XD, for example, and then record the output while it's running as video.
Anyway, you can request your feature to the team here:
