Question

Animation is lagging behind the audio in Canvas HTML published

My Animation lip sync is off when I publish my Canvas HTML5 document. The animation runs slower (it lags behind) than the audio. The lipsync works fine when it plays inside the Canvas HTML5 .fla file. I also played the same animation Graphic symbol in an AS 3.0 document and the lipsync works well in the published .swf file.

The Canvas HTML5 document is set up as 1280 x 720 @ 24 fps. The character was built (drawn) inside of Animate. I am using .wav, 16-bit audio files. I'm working on a Mac OS Monterey.

The audio is set to "Event". The images are exported as "Texture".

I have adjusted the frame rate to 28 fps (without clicking the "Scale Span" button) and the lip sync does work when the file is published. I would need to do this when my project is complete because it throws off the lipsync while working in the .fla file. I've made other Canvas HTML projects and I haven't had this issue.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of what may cause this?

is your sound's sync property set to stream?

No, it wasn't set to "Stream",  it was set to "Event". I set it to "Stream" and it is working better.

I always thought that "Event" was the best choice for interactive presentations. I always use "Stream" for animations that will be .mp4 videos.

Thank you for the quick response!

I always use Stream and never use the other options. Not even sure what the are for.

@Nick Gioia

background sounds/music typically have event sync property.
