I'm doing an assignment where I need to use the Arial Black font, however, it does not show in the fonts list in the text properties. How do I add this missing font?

Correct answer ClayUUID

Arial Black is accessed as a style of Arial.

That's not Adobe animate issue. Arial is a common font that comes preloaded both on Mac and PC. You will have to look into that by searching for a missing font for whichever system you have.

For Mac: In the Font Book app on your Mac, choose File > Restore Standard Fonts. Any fonts you've installed are placed in /Library/Fonts (Removed) or in ~/Library/Fonts (Removed). To install those fonts again, just reinstall them.

For PC:

You may follow the steps below to fix missing fonts in Windows 10.

  1. Type Edit in Cortana.
  2. Then click on option Edit language and keyboard options.
  3. Find Language option and check what language is set as default.
  4. If you want to set a different language, you can change it by clicking “Add a language” option.
  5. Choose your preferred language and click Set as default.

This isn’t the best solution, but it might help if English is not set as your predefined language, so it’s worth checking out.
