Asset Warp Tool behaving strangely in Animate 2025

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a character animation using the Asset Warp Tool in Adobe Animate 2025 (v25.2 on Windows 11), and I've run into a problem I can't seem to resolve.

When I add warp pins to a shape (a character's arm, in this case), everything looks fine at first. But as soon as I try to animate the pins over time, the mesh starts distorting in odd ways—sometimes the pins don't move the part of the shape I expect, or parts of the mesh will snap suddenly during playback. I've tried deleting and re-adding the mesh and pins, but the problem keeps coming back.

Things I've tried:

  • Breaking the shape apart before using the warp tool
  • Converting to symbol, then trying again
  • Resetting preferences
  • Using a fresh layer and redrawing the shape

Is this a known issue in the latest version, or am I missing something? Any advice or workarounds would be appreciated.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Post a screenshot of Animate's about screen with the version (25.2) clearly visible.
