Attempting to go through a tutorial asking for an asset. No assets are visable.  I have the Assets tab open I can click on Default or Custom and go through the list but nothing is available. I'm getting the message "No matching assets found!"

I am also having this same probem on a mac. I have no custom or default assets, which is frustrating as I have created and saved assets that I wish to use. I get a warning message at the bottome of my screen, download failed (see attached pic). I have been using adobe animate for a month and in the first week everything worked fine. Now, nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing. Any thoughts are most welcome as using assets is my entire reason for using animate.

Here is the warning message (bottom right).

When I press the download assets button on the bottom right I get this error message and Animate just shuts down completely. I would really like this to be resolved....help!

uninstall animate "including preferences", which (preferences) is the key.  then restart your computer and reinstall.

I just loaded Animate to learn it and I am having the same issue. I am running 23.0.1 on Mac OS 12.6.3. I have tried all the fixes listed in this thread and I am still not able to see any assets that should be available with Animate. I am including a screenshot of the panel fyi.

if you left animate open for the nine hours since you posted, do you see the assets now?

I've left it open for 24 hours—still no assets.

use the online tutorials, then, https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/tutorials.html

you need to leave the animate app open for quite a while to give it time to download the assets.

Hi @rayacosta - Seems like you are on the Custom tab. Can you please click on the Default tab and see if the assets are available for you?

    Thanks!

Hi @nancyw51428426 - Thank you for the details you have provided. The issue that you’re facing is reproducible and the team is investigating it further.

In the interim, can you try the following as a workaround -

Whenever you see asset missing in the assets panel,

    1. Close tutorial and quit the entire Animate application.
    2. Restart Animate and & try the same tutorial again.

The asset that were missing must be available after restart.

Let us know if that works.

    Thanks, Sukhesh!

    @nancyw51428426 Apologies for the inconveniences.

There is a new update of Animate 21.0.9 released today which you can try. Please follow the below steps to update the version -

    1.  Uninstall current version of Animate from Creative Cloud app. While uninstalling click on "Remove" for "Animate Preferences" dialog.
    2.  Go to user Documents folder of your system. Navigate to "Adobe/Animate" directory and delete "2021" folder inside it.
    3.  Install latest version of Animate - 21.0.9 from Creative Cloud app.

Once installed , launch Animate & try tutorials again. I hope this works.

    Thanks, Sukhesh.
